ted and debbie harper

We are Ted and Debbie Harper of Delano Minnesota. Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated by cars especially Corvettes. I grew up in the muscle car days. GTO’s, 442’s, Road Runners, Mustangs and Corvettes. Never could quite afford a Corvette though. Fast forward to today. More fun money to entertain us as the day to day expenses of raising a young family have mostly gone away as we are now “Empty Nesters”. Guess what, CORVETTE time!

Our first Corvette was an ‘03 Anniversary Edition convertible. Debbie picked it out. This picture was taken January of ‘04 in the Pole shed that is now the new Ryan dealership. We were anxious to get it home to say the least! Come on warm weather.

It is our summer fun-time/vacation car. Some of our destinations have been the Smoky Mountains, Nashville, and the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green Kentucky.

Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, and Branson Missouri, Dallas Texas, the Badlands, the Black Hills, and the Royal Gorge

We also traveled to Devils Tower, drove the Beartooth Highway into Yellowstone, then south to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole Wyoming

Exploring northern Wisconsin following the Lake Superior shoreline and onto Door County was really fun. No garage Queen here! Proof of USE on the bumper as the picture taken in Red Lodge, Montana shows.

We feel fortunate in meeting a group of people that enjoy the Corvette tradition as much as we do. We look forward to many smiles down the road! We also discovered upon joining the group and that our first Corvette, which we traded in on the ’08, has found a very good home with Jim and Christie Larson of the “Route 55 Corvette Cruisers” club. I’m also getting good at this bug cleaning thing!  We traded the ‘08 for a 2010 Grand Sport. What a fun car!

The summer of 2011 and the bad economy hit us hard as far as employment.  We had to let the Grand Sport find a new home and were “Corvette less” for several months in the short Minnesota summer.  I went into Vette withdrawals immediately! When everything straightened out for us several months later we were able to find a beautiful low mileage 2004 Z06 in Torch Red (my new favorite color) that fit our budget. We are now able to continue enjoying and exploring this Great Country in “The Z”.  So much to see, so little time!

The winter of ‘08 brought a new convertible home to Delano. The adventures continued that summer with travels to the Upper Michigan Peninsula for our summer vacation.
